„Podebrady Walking 2016“ to test organisers and venue for European Cup 2017

Half a year left to the Podebrady Walking 2016 however preparation for the prestigious meeting ongoing right now. 84th edition of the Podebrady Walking scheduled for Saturday April 9, 2016.
The meeting will again consist of international senior and junior teams contest on 20K and 10K distances including Czech Championships of men and women in 20K, international junior 10K race and 5K for the the youth and veterans.
The whole day sports festival will offer also 1K run of hundreds of pupils and students of schools in accompany program in Podebrady that day.
Organisers meet all-time high intention of 14 teams to take part in the International Team event. Total number of 300 race walkers from 30 countries worldwide expected to contest individually being atracted by rapid 1.000m circuit, elite records history, suitable weather and „European Athletics Permit Meeting“ licence allowing to fulfill MQS for top events of the year such as the IAAF Junior Championships, the World Cup and the Olympic Games.
Moreover EA entrusted the Czech Athletic Federation to host the European Cup 2017. Therefore the Czech Federation will use the „2016 Meeting“ as a test for the Cup 2017. The major race walking event will be held in 20 years period in Podebrady after the World Cup in 1997.
